This is a passion project I designed for an environmental movement - Earth Hour. Every year, they hold a symbolic event that encourages communities, businesses, and individuals to turn off the lights for one hour in order to raise awareness of the significant global problems we are facing, such as loss of nature and global warming.
I find the cause of the movement incredibly important, so I thought it would be fun to rebrand a somewhat old-fashioned, but well-known brand. My goal was to make it look more modern without straying too far from the original design. I retained the '60' symbol in the logo design because it's so well-known, but I changed the font and added a star symbol that serves as a plus sign, reminiscent of the one in the old design, while also symbolizing the core idea of the event. The star element is consistently incorporated throughout the design, giving it a cohesive and well-rounded look. The renewed brand identity also includes other graphic elements, primarily composed of stylized shapes that represent the Earth, a changed font and color scheme, branded merchandise, animated logo, web design, and social media.
